Who We Are
Game Connect Africa is a Ugandan community-based organization with established experience using sport to improve outcomes for children and young people in disadvantaged rural communities of Kamuli,Iganga,Buyende,Jinja and the wider Busoga sub region.
The organization has designed and delivered play-based programmes that integrate life skills, transformative leadership, advocacy, sexual reproductive health education, and skills development to strengthen protection and opportunity for vulnerable children, youth, and women.
Its experience in community-based programming, sport for development approaches and gender transformative approaches has played positive impact on children and youth through building confidence, leadership, and inclusive participation. GCA has previously implemented projects including; the peace promotion and violence prevention through sport among the refugees and the host communities; Sport for social inclusion and social cohesion and Sports for economic empowerment of teenage mothers.
Game Connect Africa has partnered with schools, community structures, and civil society networks across Busoga sub region, including engagement through the Uganda Child Rights NGO Network and the Sports Association of Uganda, giving the organization direct relationships with communities and youth serving institutions. This practical grounding, combined with a clear focus on vulnerable rural children, positions Game Connect Africa as a credible in embedding sustainable Sport for Development approaches that contribute to SDG 5 outcomes.
