Sports for Economic Empowerment

Game Connect Africa (GCA) has empowered vulnerable young mothers with practical skills, mentorship, entrepreneurship opportunities, and pathways to economic independence.

By combining sport with vocational training, financial literacy, life skills, business support, and mentorship, GCA helps young mothers rebuild confidence, dignity, and sustainable livelihoods.

To date, GCA has empowered over 600 young mothers through community-based Sport for Development and economic empowerment initiatives.

The programme works with churches, community leaders, vocational institutions, businesses, mentors, and development partners to create opportunities for young mothers to become self-reliant and contribute to their families and communities.

Our impact includes:
• Increased access to vocational and entrepreneurship skills.
• Improved confidence, leadership, and financial literacy.
• Increased opportunities for income generation and employment.
• Reduced economic vulnerability and dependency.
• Stronger household resilience and child wellbeing.
• Greater social inclusion and community participation.
