Livelihood and Youth Empowerment

Game Connect Africa (GCA) implements a sport as a platform to mobilize, engage, and empower young people with practical skills, entrepreneurship opportunities, financial literacy, and pathways to sustainable livelihoods.

To date, GCA has reached over 400 youths through community- and youth-based livelihood initiatives. The programme connects sport with vocational skills development, entrepreneurship, savings and financial inclusion, agriculture, market linkages, and income-generating opportunities, working with local governments, vocational institutions, businesses, community leaders, farmers’ groups, and development partners.

Through these interventions, young people build the skills, confidence, networks, and resources needed to become economically self-reliant and active contributors to their families and communities.

Our impact includes:
• Increased access to vocational and employability skills.
• Improved entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities.
• Strengthened financial literacy and savings culture.
• Increased access to savings groups and economic networks.
• Improved household income and economic resilience.
• Increased youth participation in community development.
• Empowered young people to become job creators and agents of change.

For GCA, sport is a gateway to opportunity—connecting young people to skills, livelihoods, economic empowerment, and a more resilient future.
