Sports for Education

Game Connect Africa (GCA) uses sport as an innovative learning methodology to improve educational participation, develop life skills, and create safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments for children and young people.

To date, GCA has empowered over 1,800 children through school- and community-based Sport for Education initiatives, working with 10 primary and secondary schools across Eastern Uganda.

The programme integrates structured sport, life skills, leadership, mentorship, peacebuilding, gender inclusion, and creative learning to complement classroom education.

Through sport-based learning, children develop confidence, teamwork, communication, critical thinking, discipline, leadership, resilience, and problem-solving skills, while becoming more engaged in their education and communities.

Our impact includes:
• Increased learner participation, engagement, and retention.
• Improved life skills, confidence, and positive behaviour.
• Strengthened leadership and teamwork among children and youth.
• Increased motivation and active participation in learning.
• Promoted gender equality and inclusive participation.
• Strengthened peacebuilding and social cohesion in schools.
• Empowered children to become responsible leaders and positive agents of change.

For GCA, sport is a pathway to better learning, stronger life skills, and empowered young people who can shape a brighter future for Uganda.
