Sport for Community Health and Inclusion

Game Connect Africa (GCA) serves the community through sport as a powerful platform to improve community health, promote inclusion, and connect vulnerable populations to essential health information and services.

Through community sports events, health outreaches, awareness campaigns, and partnerships with health providers and local leaders, GCA creates inclusive spaces where people can participate, learn, and access support.

To date, GCA has reached over 3,500+ individuals with health services through community-based Sport for Development initiatives. The programme promotes preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyles, HIV and sexual and reproductive health awareness, nutrition, maternal and child health, mental wellbeing, and disease prevention.

GCA works with health facilities, community leaders, volunteers, schools, and other partners to improve access to health information and strengthen community participation.

Our impact includes:
• Increased access to health information and services.
• Improved health-seeking behaviour and disease prevention.
• Increased awareness of HIV, nutrition, hygiene, and sexual and reproductive health.
• Greater mental health awareness and psychosocial wellbeing.
• Increased inclusion and participation of vulnerable and marginalized populations.
• Healthier, more informed, and resilient communities.

For GCA, sport is more than physical activity it is a pathway to healthier, more inclusive, and empowered communities.
