Sports for Child Protection and Participation

Game Connect Africa (GCA) implements project through sport as a powerful platform to protect children, amplify their voices, and promote meaningful participation.

Through structured sports activities, child rights education, safeguarding awareness, leadership development, and advocacy, GCA creates safe and inclusive spaces where children can learn, play, speak out, and become agents of change.

To date, GCA has reached over 2,000+ children through school- and community-based Sport for Development initiatives.

The programme equips children with knowledge of their rights, confidence to report abuse and seek support, leadership and teamwork skills, and the ability to participate in decisions affecting their lives.

GCA works with schools, parents, teachers, community leaders, child protection actors, government institutions, and development partners to strengthen child protection systems and create safer environments.

Our impact includes:

• Improved child participation and leadership.
• Greater confidence to speak out against abuse, violence, exploitation, and discrimination.
• Stronger safeguarding practices in schools and communities.
• Empowered children and youth who promote positive change among their peers.
